Opus Events Agency Announces C-Level Promotions
Beaverton, Ore – Opus Events Agency is pleased to announce three of the company’s most recent promotions. Dena Kaufman, promoted to Chief Operating Officer, DeEtte Kapustka, promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Jim Snell recently joined the team as Chief Information Officer.

Monte Wood, President of Opus Events Agency attributes these new promotions to increased company growth. “As Opus Events Agency continues its strong growth and increased service offerings, c-level leadership becomes ever more important,” said Wood. “We are excited to continue building around the skills of these talented individuals.”
Dena Kaufman has worked at Opus for 17 years and has experience in all facets of the company. From leading a tenured team of executives to individual performance and client success, Dena has direct experience in all of Opus’ service offerings from event strategy and production to creative services and event technology solutions. Dena is very active in the event industry and serves on the board of CEMA (Corporate Event Marketing Association).
“Dena is a fantastic leader who brings energy, perspective and focus to our company,” said Wood. “She is committed to the strategic direction of Opus and I enjoy our strong working relationship. Her industry knowledge is top notch and I rely heavily on her judgment.”
DeEtte Kapustka joined Opus in 2011, brining over 20 years of accounting and financial leadership experience in the Portland area. Prior to joining Opus, DeEtte worked as the Director of Accounting and Finance for KC Distance Learning, where she led the financial team cumulating the successful sale of the business to K12, a publicly held company in 2012. Prior to K12, DeEtte spent several years as the Director of Finance for Wieden + Kennedy, an international advertising agency. DeEtte is very active in the community as a member of Financial Executives International and is also a board member for the Clark County Youth Sports Foundation.
“DeEtte knows finance and accounting, but more importantly she understands the key elements of business success,” said Wood. “Her knowledge is well ahead of our growth, which is fantastic. Our company would not be where we are today without her wisdom, knowledge and expertise.”
Jim Snell joined the team in 2013 as CIO. He most recently served as VP, Learning Solutions for K12 Inc., the world’s largest provider of online primary education. At K12, he was responsible for the development and delivery of K12’s online learning and administrative platforms. Over the last 20 years he has led technology teams in the financial services, computer design, and online education industries. Jim is actively involved with the Technology Association of Oregon and the Society for Information Management.
“Jim has been a wonderful addition to the Opus team,” said Wood. “Bringing over 20 years of technology experience, he is the exact person we needed in our CIO role. I look forward to watching him bring his expertise to our organization and growing our technology team.”
